MD5 Hashing of Files
MMTSoftware Press Room
Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 2:01:05 PMMaster Mind Technologies introduces automatic MD5 file verification upon download of our files.
Traditionally, software sites offer an MD5 checksum to verify that you have a good copy, but what about the site's copy?
MMTSoftware.com will check the MD5 checksum of the file before you can download it, making sure that you're getting a copy of the program you actually wanted, and not some rouge copy instead. For even more security, we also give you the MD5 of the file on the product detail page. The best way to check a file's MD5 that we have found is HashTab, which after installation shows the MD5, SHA1, and other hashes of the files on the properties tab in Windows!
Please Note:
On occasion, you'll get our "Version Error" notice. While this can mean our copy is not the correct one, generally it means we're currently updating the software package. MMTSoftware will automatically contact the administrators when our hashes don't match up, so you needn't contact us when you find an issue.
